6th Grade

I can't believe how fast this school year is going. We only have three months left together and then you're going to be in 6th grade! Like we talked about, there will be a lot of changes in 6th grade. You will have to be a lot more responsible and have a heavier work load, so that means a lot of planning ahead. I would like for you to tell me some of the things that you are excited for and some of the things that you are nervous about and know that you will have to work on before you go to 6th grade. Working on some of these bad habits now would be a great start. Please remember to write 5th grade sentences, which means AT LEAST FIVE SENTENCES. I will not post anything that has less then five. You might want to type it on a word document first and then paste it to the blog. This will help you with spelling mistakes and you will have it saved in case the post doesn't go through. Have fun and type away :)

  1. Next year in sixth grade i am excited to learn new things and meet my new teacher. I am looking forward to health class, spanish class (hola) and science. I'm excited, but a little bit nervous to meet my new teachers, and visit my new class room. I'm very nervous about the new schedule, and getting to school on time. I sometimes wonder if i will get to my classes, or homeroom on time. What if i don't finish my homework? Questions like this make me worried about next year. But I will be with my friends, so I think I'll be okay.

  5. I can't wait 'till sixth grade, but I still LOVE 5th grade. I know that you know that my desk is a madhouse, but actually like to be neat and organized. The part about having a whole binder full of assignments is actually exciting to me. I'm pretty nervous about remembering everything, but a binder with everything in it should help tons. Overall I'm super excited and a little bit nervous about 6th grade.

  6. I am excited about 6th grade. I look forward to meeting the new teachers, fun activities, and school dances. I am scared about all the home work I will have. I am always so tired at the end of a school day. One thing I need to work on is getting to school earlier to be better prepared for the day. When I think about it I am exited to know I am half way to college.

  7. Hi Mr. C. I am excited for sixth grade. I just wanted you to know that I will still visit you almost everyday I can. I am excited that we get to have study hall next year because we get to do some of our homework. I like getting my homework done during the day so I don't have to do a lot after school. I am nervous about knowing where to go and making sure I get there on time. Before I go to fifth grade I want to improve on my handwriting because sometimes it can be really really messy. I also want to start being more organized Hope you like it!

  10. What I'm nervous about for sixth grade is that I have to do a lot of work. I really want to do is the academic fair. The creature I want to do is the Centare . the teacher I want is Mrs. DeVylder's class. I kind of don't want to leave fifth grade because Mr. C and Mrs. Ronning is awesome. The other thing is that I want to do is Chorus.

  15. In sixth grade I am worried about having all the binders and notebooks to drag around. It's a lot of money to buy the binders and notebooks. It will also be a pain to carry around because they're really heavy. I'm looking forward to the Academic Fair because the Fair in sixth grade is about a Mythological Creature of your choice. I personally, really like Mythology. I also like having all the teachers. It gives you a relief because you get the teacher you want one way or another.

  16. Hi Mr.C. I agree the school year has gone by very fast. But I am really excited for 6th grade. It seems like all of the teachers are really nice. I am also looking forward to more independent work, study hall and a new schedule! I am nervous about fitting the homework in with sports but I think I can do it. I like the idea of having a planner book and scheduling out all of my work. This will help me be more organized and ready for all my classes. I think that 6th grade will be great, but I won’t forget to say Hi to my 5th grade teachers!

I want to work on getting to school on time and finishing my homework on the first day I get it handed out to me. I am crossing my fingers and hopeing my best friends are in my classes and have a close schedule so we can talk about after school during study hall and stuff. I have a lot of thing i'm scared about for 6th grade but also a lot of things I'm happy about. Some things I'm scared about are we have to walk around the school alone and I don't know where most of the teachers are , also since we're going to have like 8 teachers we're going to have a lot more homework. Also we're going to have to walk up the stairs like 10 times a day with 3 binders in our hands. Things that I'm excited for are dances, changing classes ,and new teachers. I'm still excited about 6th grade but I like 5th grade more

  19. I am looking forward to sixth grade. I will be able to go to the dances and get on the honor roll. I am a little nervous about getting more homework. I also worry because if I don't get all my homework I might get a detention. Over all I think it will be fun because I will still be with all my friends. The one thing I will miss is Mr C.
